SIXTIES SPY STRIPS

Titan Books are to publish a series of trade paperbacks collecting some of the most highly regarded British newspaper strips of the 1960's. Two series, JAMES BOND 007 and MODESTY BLAISE, will launch in early 2004 and each book will feature around 100 pages of classic material, compiling the old daily strips from, respectively, the DAILY EXPRESS and the LONDON EVENING STANDARD. The first volumes will appear around Feburary 2004, with more to follow during the year.

MODESTY BLAISE runs the strips by Peter O'Donnell and Jim Holdaway from their 1963 beginnings, whilst JAMES BOND will feature adaptations of Ian Fleming's books, starting with "The Man With the Golden Gun" , adapted by Jim Lawrence and illustrated by Horak, which originally appeared in the EXPRESS in 1966. Both of these collections were previously published by Titan in the mid-1980's, but the new versions will feature a new design and new introductions.
JAMES BOND 007: THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN is published on February 27th and is reviewed on our Unmutual REVIEWS page on this website.
MODESTY BLAISE: THE GABRIEL SET UP and JAMES BOND 007: OCTOPUSSY will be the next two books published. More information on future volumes will appear here as soon as it's available.
