BILLINGTON AND BISHOP R.I.P.

In a sad and tragic coincidence, we have this week learnt that two of cult TV's best-loved heroes, Michael Billington and Ed Bishop, sadly passed away during early June 2005.

Michael (pictured left) will be known to "Prisoner" fans as the 2nd Woodland Man from the episode "A Change of Mind". He also starred in the TV series "The Onedin Line" and the Bond film "The Spy Who Loved Me". However, it is perhaps in his role of Colonel Paul Foster in the Gerry Anderson series "UFO" that he will be best remembered. He died at the age of only 63 after a long battle with cancer.

Ed Bishop, who starred alongside Billington as Ed Straker in "UFO", and provided the voice of Captain Blue in "Captain Scarlet" as well as appearing in a host of TV shows and films, died on June 8th 2005, three days before his 73rd birthday.

The Unmutual Website would like to offer its sincere condolences to the friends and family of both these fine actors, who will be greatly missed. More detailed obituaries of both men can be found HERE.
