SPECIAL EDITION DVD FOR DRAKE'S 45TH

2005 promises to be an unforgettable year for fans of the 1960s TV series "Danger Man", which starred Patrick McGoohan as Secret Agent John Drake. Not only do we have the Deagostini DVD and magazine partwork to look forward to, plus Robert Fairclough's official "Danger Man" companion book, but also a new DVD set from Australian entertainment company Umbrella (front and rear cover images, left) is due for release in February of this year. The new "Danger Man" box set, released to coincide with the series' 45th Anniversary, will contain all 39 half-hour episodes specially remastered, complete and uncut for the first time.

Umbrella are synonymous with producing high quality DVDs (their 35th Anniversary release of "The Prisoner" is widely-regarded as the finest box set ever released for the series). Umbrella have enlisted the help of Cult TV consultants Popco for the new set, with ITC aficionado and Popco Director Jaz Wiseman (who was a guest at Prisoner Day 2003) providing a number of exclusive bonus items!

As well as the 39 episodes, the Special-Edition DVD set also includes a number of extras including rare trailers, galleries, and commentaries by writer Brian Clemens and Director Peter Graham Scott (who Unmutual readers might also know as the director of The Prisoner episode "The General"). The 3 audio commentaries are for the episodes "View From the Villa" (which features Portmeirion), "The Nurse", and "An Affair of State". The commentaries were recorded on 16 June 2004 at Redwood Studios, London. They were moderated and produced by Jaz Wiseman of Popco.

The Box Set will be available in Australian stores in February, and available worldwide online at http://www.umbrellaent.com.au and http://www.ezydvd.com.au. For more information, visit the Popco website at http://www.pop-co.com
