The Unmutual Prisoner Locations Guide is the largest Prisoner Locations Guide ever compiled in any form.
However, there are still several locations which we have been unable to track down. If you can help with any of the following, please contact us. It is possible that some of these locations were in fact filmed at the MGM studio backlot (which would explain why we have been unable to track down the locations).
THE CHIMES OF BIG BEN
During Nadia and Six's "escape", a truck is seen driving through the Countryside. As the "escape crate" is not visible on the back of the truck, this was always assumed to be Stock/library footage, but Tony Sloman (Librarian on The Prisoner) confirmed at Prisoner Day 2003 that he shot this footage specifically for the Episode. Location Unknown.
MANY HAPPY RETURNS
After his encounter with the Romany Gypsies, Number Six sees a roadblock, and then jumps into the back of a moving Netco Van, which is then seen driving away. Locations Unknown, although cameraman Robert Monks has confirmed that these sequences were filmed in the Folkestone area.
Immediately after leaving Mrs Butterworth, the Lotus (with McGoohan driving) is seen driving down a street (with a zebra crossing visible). Location Unknown, but thought to be Elstree Way.
