LOST PRISONER

Several TV producers and writers have cited "The Prisoner" as an influence on their work, and the latest of these is JJ Abrams - the man behind the TV series' "Lost" and "Alias", and the forthcoming "Star Trek" movie.

In the July 24-30 issue of US magazine "TV Guide", when asked about influences, he said he; "loved The Prisoner, which was a very odd sort of hybrid of sci-fi, mystery and character, and certainly there are elements of The Prisoner in both Alias and Lost. The Prisoner was a guy constantly wondering where the hell he was. And there was some kind of agency that seemed to be in control of his destiny, and that was clearly a theme in Alias."

Several months ago, we reported that "Buffy" creator Joss Whedon had also cited "The Prisoner" as an influence. This has again been confirmed, as he has placed Number Six in his top 25 TV characters list - click HERE for more details .
