ROADSHOW VISITS PORTMEIRION

May 12th 2004 saw a crew from the BBC descend on Portmeirion in Wales to film a programme for the long running ANTIQUES ROADSHOW. Members of the public came along to have their antiques valued by experts. Long-time Prisoner fan Steve McKay, complete with blazer, was there (see photo below) and his collection of Portmeiriana was featured in the final programme, transmitted on Sunday September 5th on BBC One at 6.40pm.

No Prisoner memorabilia appeared in the programme, although the series was mentioned by Presenter Michael Aspel during his introduction. A Prisoner T-Shirt designed by Lew Stringer made several appearances, however, worn by one of the attendees on the day.

An edition of another BBC antiques programme "Flog It" was also recorded in Portmeirion recently. Click HERE to read Bruce and Cathy Frumerman's location report of the filming of Antiques Roadshow.
