PORTMEIRION IN PRINT

The Village of Portmeirion, in North Wales, often turns up in newspaper articles and magazine features and this month is no exception. No less than 3 separate publications extensively feature our favourite Village this month.

Firstly, the October/November 2004 issue of "In Britain" (the official magazine of "Visit Britain" (nee the British Tourist Authority)) writes about Portmeirion as its lead location in its feature "Rooms With A View". The photos in the article are the overhead full Village shot, and a small one looking up from the Hotel Lawn over the swimming pool and onward to the Village. More details and photos can be seen at Cathy Frumerman's "Eye on Wales" site.

November's "Gardeners' World Magazine" picked Portmeirion (amongst others) for its 'Gardens to Visit' section:

"Perched on a peninsula in North Wales, Portmeirion is a beautifully planted
and unique woodland village that opened in1926. Houses and shops nestle on the slopes among towering trees and flowering shrubs, looking like the setting for a fairytale.
The adjacent Gwyllt woods, extensively planted in the Edwardian era, are a haven for rhodedendrons, camellias and mature trees."

Also available this month, "Picture Postcard Monthly" has a 3 page feature on Portmeirion.

Many thanks to Cathy Frumerman, Jill Mills and Steve MacKay for bringing these publications to our attention.
