Comic artist Lew Stringer (The Beano, Dandy, Viz, Doctor Who Magazine, etc) will be a familiar name to fans of 'The Prisoner', having included references to the series in many of his strips over the years (including publications such as Transformers Comic, Toxic, and many others).

On sale on Wednesday 4th December is the current issue (No. 4064) of The Beano, in which a familiar figure can be seen in the background of Lew's latest strip, "Ellis's Great Escape".

Writes Lew; "It occured to me that a strip about an elephant trying to escape from the zoo every week ought to have a nod to The Prisoner in some way. The show would be unfamiliar to most of The Beano's young readers so I just went with having Number Six wander by in the background. It's a tiny detail but hopefully eagle-eyed Priz fans will spot it!"
