PM2006 CHARITY AUCTION

PM2006 was a one-day celebration of Patrick McGoohan, "Danger Man", "The Prisoner", and Portmeirion, held in Portmeirion's Hercules Hall on Sunday August 13th 2006. The event included interviews with star guests, archive screenings, and much more. The event was in aid of Ty Gobaith Hospice for terminally-ill children. As part of the event, an auction of memorabilia will took place with all profits donated to the event/charity.

THE AUCTION ITEMS

ITEM 1 -SIGNED SCRIPT

A script for the film "Braveheart" hand-signed (not pre-printed/copied) by Patrick McGoohan, Mel Gibson, and Sophie Marceau. The one-off item is in mint condition and comes with a lifetime certificate of guaranteed authenticity.

ITEM 2 - ORIGINAL DINKY MINI-MOKE AND BOX

A rare chance to own an original Dinky Toys "Prisoner" Mini-Moke including original box. Please note this item is not in mint condition, and can at best be described as fair. The box is tatty has one end missing, and the item itself is rather tatty also (scuffed paintwork, worn roof, bonnet does not completely close). Nevertheless, it is rare to see one in any condition these days and whilst not worth £300 as a mint item would be, is still very rare and desirable.

A postcard sized hand-signed (not a pre-print or photocopy) glossy photo & autograph of Anton Rodgers as Number Two in "The Schizoid Man" in excellent condition.

An 8x10" glossy hand-signed (not a pre-print or photocopy) photo of George Baker as Number Two in "Arrival" exclusively signed for PM2006 by Mr Baker.

An 8x10" glossy hand-signed (not a pre-print or photocopy) photo of Peter Howell as The Professor in "The General" exclusively signed for PM2006 by Mr Howell.

ITEM 6 - ORIGINAL 1959 "BRAND" THEATRE PROGRAMME

An original, and very rare, 1959 Lyric Opera House theatre programme for "Brand", starring Patrick McGoohan in arguably his finest role/performance. Item in excellent original condition, although does have central fold mark/line.

ITEM 7 - ORIGINAL 1955 "SERIOUS CHARGE" THEATRE PROGRAMME

An original, and very rare, 1955 Garrick Theatre programme for "Serious Charge", starring Patrick McGoohan as Howard Phillips. Item in good original condition, although does have a central fold mark/line and "wed evg 16-3-55" written in ink on page 3.

ITEM 8 - SIGNED SIR CLOUGH AUTOBIOGRAPHY

"Architect Errant - The autobiography of Clough Williams-Ellis" in Hardback (first edition 1971). Inscribed to/by original owner on inner page, looks like "Philip Lyth, Tyn y Cefn Aug. 1971" Autographed by Sir Clough on the title page, opposite B&W photo of himself. Signature size is approx 1.5x4.5" across the page. Condition - Dust wrapper is in very good condition. One 4mm minor tear at top of spine, plus a little bumped at spine and corners. The spine is slightly light faded, but not to any great degree. Very minor foxing of the inside leaves of the dust jacket. No discernable foxing in the main book itself.

ITEM 9 - "ON TRUST FOR THE NATION II" FIRST EDITION HARDBACK

An original and quite rare first-edition hardback of "On Trust to the Nation II", a 1949 book by Portmeirion architect Clough Williams-Ellis in which he describes, in his own inimitable style, a large number of National Trust buildings and areas in Britain, complete with many photographs. Item in excellent condition considering its age, although cover and first/last pages yellowed due to age, and top/bottom of spine slightly scuffed.

ITEM 10 - RARE 1983 PATRICK MCGOOHAN SCREENOGRAPHY

Compiled by Rae Wittrick and Roger Goodman, this now very rare (reaching £30+ on ebay) 1983 paperback book is a compilation of Patrick McGoohan's stage and screen appearances, and runs to well over 100 detailed pages. The item is in fair condition (crease to cover, some loose pages and spine scuffage, and original colour poster is missing).

ITEM 11 - AUTHENTIC REPLICA VILLAGE CLOAK

A Prisoner-style village cloak/cape. This item has been hand made and, unlike many other cloaks one sees on sale (which retail for over £50), is 100% authentic, having used an original cape used in the series as a template for the design.

ITEM 12 - NEW ROLLING STONES BOOK SIGNED BY BILL WYMAN

"The Stones - A History in Cartoons" brand new/mint 1st edition hardback, by Bill Wyman. This item has been hand signed by Bill at a promotional event at Waterstones.

ITEM 13 - "THE BEATLES 365 DAYS" HARDBACK SIGNED BY AUTHOR

Signed by Author Simon Wells, this is a beautifully illustrated first edition hardback book of several hundred pages, which catalogues 365 different days in the life of The Beatles, containing hundreds of previously unseen phoographs from the Getty archive of images.

ITEM 14 - "THE AVENGERS AND ME" SIGNED BY PATRICK MACNEE & DAVE ROGERS

"The Avengers and Me" is a superb book written by Patrick "Steed" Macnee, and Avengers officianado Dave Rogers. This item has been genuinely hand-signed by both Macnee and Rogers.

A pre-published copy of the cover to Ian Rakoff's "Inside The Prisoner" book signed by Rakoff himself, and fellow "Prisoner" crew members John S Smith, Martin Davis, and Frank Maher.
