PORTMEIRION UPDATE - APRIL 2010

Photos: Rick Davy, Crispin Hodges, & Lee Arnall.

HOTEL REFURBISHMENT

Matching the appearance of the original frontage (sadly destroyed by fire in 1983), the main hotel building gets a revamp both inside and outside with a new reception area. For regular updates and images visit the Portmeirion Website.

"Grotto" Belvedere outlook now viewable from all sides.

Salutation (above the Ship Shop) is now 3 seperate hotel suites.

"Papur a Pencil" and "Siop Bach" shops are now cafe outlets selling Tea, Coffee, Panini etc.

In recent times most of the cottages have also received a new "lease of life" in the form of paintwork, and the village itself continues to be updated with better disabled access and safety measures. The woodland has also seen improvements with wider paths and clearer signage.

A plaque has also been added to White Horses Cottage to commemorate Patrick McGoohan staying there during the filing of The Prisoner.
