THE PRISONER: In "Living in Harmony", the site appears several
times (particularly the pre-credit sequence as McGoohan is abducted, and later
has his escape halted) as the non-Harmony town western sequences.

REALITY: This
is Dunstable Downs, in Bedfordshire. The "Living in Harmony" sequences
were shot at the North end of the B4541 at Five Knolls, filmed looking north
(the town of Dunstable is behind the hills to the right, out of shot). Investigations
by Paul Smith, and comments from Cameraman Robert Monks at PM2006,
have confirmed that the Romany sequences in "Many Happy Returns" were
not shot here, but at an unknown location
near to the town of Folkestone in Kent.
