FLOG IT IN PORTMEIRION

BBC2 viewers on Thursday March 3rd 2005 would have been delighted to see Portmeirion on their screens again, as the channel's flagship antiques and collectibles series "Flog It" visited the Village. Filmed in the spring of 2004, the episode featured Portmeirion expert Steve McKay as the expert on duty, in two segments - one regarding Portmeirion Pottery and one regarding TV collectibles.

The show also featured the inevitable sight of the presenter, Paul Martin, being chased around the Village by Rover. Steve told us: "Luckily, Janet and Helen Moran were able to track down an old Hoover in Mermaid to show the BBC how to blow up a Rover. Paul Martin is a very nice guy! The whole crew fitted in one van and they all mucked in. A lot more fun to do than the "Antiques Roadshow" who took over the entire Village like a military invasion." The edition also included segments filmed at the nearby town of Dolgellau. To see more images from the show, click HERE.

With thanks to Steve McKay for the information and images. If anyone has a recording of the programme, please contact us.
